RAMON VELOZ
Ramon Veloz is a longtime Bayonne resident, local businessperson, and community advocate who is running for an At-Large seat on the Bayonne City Council. He is committed to bringing experience, accessibility, and a strong listening ear to City Hall.
Ramon has a history of public service in Bayonne, having served as a member of the Bayonne Planning Board and previously on the Rent Control Board. Through these roles, he has worked closely with residents and city officials to address quality-of-life issues, development concerns, and housing matters that directly impact Bayonne families.
In 2010, Ramon stepped forward to seek elected office, later making history as the first Latino candidate to run for Council of Bayonne. That campaign reflected his belief that city government should be inclusive, representative, and responsive to all residents.
Now, Ramon is running for City Council as part of the slate headed by mayoral candidate and current Councilman Loyad Booker. Having known Booker since his time as a Bayonne police officer, Ramon believes in his leadership, integrity, and shared love for the city.
A part-time real estate professional, Ramon has committed to dedicating his full attention to the responsibilities of City Council if elected, with the support of his family. He believes the role of a council member is to listen, problem-solve, and advocate for residents.
“I have the time to listen,” Ramon says. “And I want to help solve the issues that matter most to the people of Bayonne.”
Ramon Veloz is running to ensure every resident’s voice is heard and to help move Bayonne forward with thoughtful, community-focused leadership.
